August 5, 2011 – Washington, D.C. Australian artist Yiying Lu has created a cutting-edge collection of fashion illustrations for the inaugural issue of Meets Obsession magazine.
Lu’s illustrations are featured exclusively in Meets Obsession’s “10 Most Intriguing in Fashion” feature story, which profiles ten notable names in fashion who have made the industry’s most intriguing headlines this year.
Yiying Lu’s “Most Intriguing” illustrations for Meets Obsession include Anna Wintour, Nicola Formichetti, Anna Della Russo, Andrej Pejic, Dov Charney, Chloe Sevigny, Sarah Burton, Rick Genest, Terry Richardson, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. All ten exclusive new images were released today.
Each of Yiying Lu’s illustrations include an embedded QR Code that, once scanned with a mobile device, will reveal a web address where users can download free digital versions of Lu’s artwork for desktops, iPhone and iPads.

“QR codes are our new vernacular,” observes artist and cultural critic Jonathon Keats. “They’re the lingua franca of our augmented reality, yet up to now they’ve had about as much poetry as a DOS boot sequence. What makes Yiying Lu’s QR imagery so visionary is that she’s transforming this computer language into a visual language. In her hands, QR codes become a fashion statement — and an art form.”
“Yiying Lu is incredibly talented and her illustrations for our inaugural issue are an inspiring mix of high-fashion and high-technology”, said Jacqy Law, Publisher and Editor-In-Chief for Meets Obsession magazine. “At Meets Obsession, we’re committed to bringing fashion to our readers – wherever they may be! Yiying Lu’s artwork adds an innovative digital component to the print version of our magazine, and allows us to interact with our readers in wonderful new ways.”
